Charm Theory
charm theory /tʃɑːm ˈθɪə·ri/ · proper noun — jewelry where every charm is a kept memory. Naming, identity & packaging.

the brief — Elegance that survives game day
Jewelry entrepreneur Jyothi Machen approached us to create a charm-based jewelry brand for college students that still read as grown-up. The brand was born from the love of two things — style and the thrill of college sports: jewelry that moves effortlessly from game day to date night, celebrating team pride with elegance, built on ethically sourced materials.

the challenge — Spirit without novelty
Three tensions to resolve: celebrating college sports culture without feeling novelty-driven; making charms — often nostalgic or juvenile — feel fashion-forward for Gen Z; and designing jewelry equally at home layered on campus, worn to the stadium, or paired with evening attire.

the identity — Stacked stories
The brandmark is an abstract, fluid form inspired by organic stone stacking — stories, moments, and connections building on each other, like charms in a collection. CHARM sits in an elegant serif for the timeless side; THEORY in a spaced minimal sans for the modern one. The palette is neutral beige and warm gold: jewelry's metallic warmth, working across print, digital, and packaging.
Charm Theory now reads young without reading disposable — every charm a piece of personal history, in jewelry made from ethically sourced materials.
